With the lack of ministry to young adults in larger cities, Fr Jack Wall, a priest at St. James in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, created Theology on Tap®. His parish would host six speakers throughout the summer for college students home from school. The program culminated with a cook-out at the Bishop’s residence. TOT’s popularity spread throughout the Chicago area, with many parishes copying Fr Wall’s work. Now in its 25th year, young adults can find Theology on Taps in 46 states and 6 countries! A great deal of gratitude is due to these first groups of priests and young Catholics from Chicago for creating such a successful ministry.

Theology on Tap is a new ministry to the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. We are sponsored by St. Thomas Aquinas parish in West Lafayette. Unlike many of St. Tom’s ministries we are not just geared towards the students of Purdue. We would like for EVERY young adult in the Greater Lafayette area to feel welcome at our gatherings.

Currently we meet monthly on the second Tuesday of every month during the school year and every Tuesday in July during the summer at Harry’s Chocolate Shop in West Lafayette. Social hour begins at 7:00. Sessions begin at 7:30 with a short presentation from a speaker who is an expert on topics related to modern day Christian living. After the short presentation the floor is opened to questions from anyone who might have one. The rest of the time is devoted to socializing and getting to know one another and supporting each other in our shared Catholic Faith. Come early and have dinner with us or come just for the presentation and social time, either way
come...enjoy...learn.

On the Tuesday's that we do not meet at Harry's feel free to join us for our Theology on Tap core group discussions at 7:30pm in Room 4 at St. Tom's. We come together to do scripture study and theological reflection on being a young adult Catholic in today's world.
